Obama vs Romney with a Grain of Salt

By this time, you are probably burned out on election day emails and commercials (and phone calls!), but I feel the need to inject a little levity into the debate.  We are all so polarized and so sure we are right!  I have to admit, when I look at my voting record and where it has gotten my beloved country, I know I need to be a bit less biased and take it all with a grain of salt.
Here are a few memes I found to add some laughter to the final hours before the polls open.  It was hard to find some that were just funny because everyone is so angry and impassioned.  My first selection honors college students everywhere who know what a great deal they have in college and just want life to stay that way...

Joe Biden is possibly my favorite politician, ever.  He is always surprising and interesting even when I completely disagree.  I have no idea how someone who consistently speaks his mind has made it so far, but while he would make a fun dinner companion, maybe not such a great running mate....

It was hard to find a Republican answer to the Democratic meme above.  All of the memes with Romney felt mean spirited (not to say that most of them with Obama weren't), so I had to settle for this one using a photo of Ryan...

I leave you with a few words from Albert Mohler, the president of the Southern Baptist Theological Semenary...
May God bless America, not because this nation deserves to be blessed, but because He is a God of grace and mercy.  Oh God . . . save us from ourselves.

The History of Medicine!

I was researching my next post and found this!  Enjoy....

History of Medicine:

2000 B.C.   Eat this root

1000 B.C.   Roots are heathen. Say a prayer.

1850 A.D.  Prayer is superstition. Take this potion.

1900 A.D.  That potion is snake oil. Take this pill.

1940 A.D.  That pill is useless. Take this antibiotic.

2000 A.D.  That antibiotic is no longer effective. Eat this root.

Laughter in the Dark

We energy healers take ourselves way too seriously.  In our quest to be accepted by everybody (and some days, any body), it is easy to lose sight of the lighter side of life.  In our quest to keep healing and improving, we can look way too deeply into the dark and dissatisfying and forget that is balanced by the light.  Don't get me wrong, there are many lessons in the dark side, but there is loads of fun and fulfillment in the light.
I first was attracted to my husband by his sense of humor. Witty, indulgent and sometimes abrasive, he is my perfect match (too sweet makes my teeth hurt).  He and our teenage sons keep life lively. This week has been a whirlwind both good and bad, so this morning I went looking for a little energy healing humor.  It is pretty thin on the ground.  In the first row of images was a picture of George Carlin (who knew he was an energy healer?)  This was also in the first row.

Many thanks to Alice Langholt from http://reikiawakening.blogspot.com
In case you are looking at this on a small screen, the white box is a pill that says placebo.  The whole thing just made me laugh.  Also on the page were many cat pictures.  I successfully resisted, but some were pretty good.  If you'd like to see them, go to the image search on google and type in funny reiki.  We'll get back to the serious side later, enjoy your weekend.
